Glycoproteins present in the blood are generally known as Tumor Markers. It is detected by monoclonal antibodies. Although high levels of a tumour marker can provide useful information, its misuse can bring patients additional anxiety and distress. Furthermore, needless investigations may cause negative effects and delay proper diagnosis and treatment.
